Vernazza is a small special village, to us but also for its visitors
A small place open to the world and happy to accommodate it, but in order not to distort its reality we also suggest you leave your car at home and come by train.
Anyway, here’s how to find us …
As already said, we recommend not to come by car, but if you really need it, here is some useful information to reach the village of Vernazza.
Due to the flood of 2011, you can now only get here via La Spezia (45 minutes), along the “Litoranea delle Cinque Terre”, which offers stunning views of the coastline and winds at about 400 meters above the sea.
- The A12 motorway exit is La Spezia
- From the exit you will have to take the fast-distance highway to downtown and then follow the brown signs to the Cinque Terre till the Litoranea delle Cinque Terre (SS370)
- The junction for Vernazza is a few kilometers after the hamlet of Volastra. At this point the road narrows and descends very steeply almost to the sea
Warning: in the area of Cinque Terre, there are no gas stations. The closest dealers are located in Levanto and La Spezia.
The public car park in Vernazza is located outside the village, but there’s a minibus service to down town.
